Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts

A comeback Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.

The Russian, a ex- number one, has endured a difficult period, managing just one win at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-term coach his previous coach.

Now working with Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought three-set victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

It is Medvedev's maiden championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt since that period of that year.

Victory also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 titles at 21 different events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is really nice," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, including in that event in the past months.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and recurring reactions on the tennis court had prompted commentators to doubt if his capacity to perform at the elite level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has made changes in the past month, attempting to approach the net and compete positively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

He recovered from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, taking four of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The pair swapped break points in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden professional championship, gained dominance to force a final set.

He saved 4 initial break points in a close deciding set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned victory with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
