Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a diverse cast of personalities, and a gripping narrative showcasing angels, fiends, and dark forces increasing in power within the city.
Warning: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to undertake their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might look unsuited, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these particular heroes are best suited for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise started the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his own means, breaking into the secret base, assaulting the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to auction.
The traitor then paid off his obligations and fled to a secure base in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, seeks vengeance.
- Kattigan knows Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could assist the party access places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that govern the setting for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in search of the antagonist.
